Let me tell you about this woman, wounded by her last battle against low-self esteem scouts to find a safe place to rest for the night. It is a dark, moldy cave in the middle of nowhere. Bruised? She is. Alone? Not for long. Retreating? Not a chance! She draws her 3-feet (90 cm) weapon-- her spear-- and sharpens the tip once again. Ready to fight. Ready to win. Imagine such a woman! Broken but stubborn. Oppressed but relentless. Odd but special. She is  a warrior. A survivor. A victor. A pacesetter. An odds breaker. Imagine such a woman, in thousands... and ten thousands... Except where her spear was the greatest weapon, her voice now is!

Our vision for SpearWoman is to be a resource and network hub for broken, impassioned, empowered, "angry" and "frustrated" young African women seeking to shake the social system by creating and destroying structures, building and tearing down systems through the power of their voices. This online platform would provide space for young, like-minded women to share their world and ideas with each other through thought leading art, prose, poetry and what we like to call "quiet voice"; a place for women who share the Black and African experience to be elevated!

This, we believe will foster a synergistic movement where young African women gain the confidence, recognition and support to effectively impact their communities and foster their personal growth.
